Listings with good photography get more views and more showing requests, and the gap widens on properties where the setting is part of the sell: waterfront, large lots, anything with a view. We shoot listings across HRM with a 4K camera and an Advanced RPAS certified drone on the same visit, and turn the edited photos around in 24 to 48 hours.
Our On-Site Shoot Package is $349 plus HST and covers a two-hour shoot, 15 edited photos, three short vertical videos and aerial coverage. That is the package most agents book. Larger or premium properties are quoted per project.
What a Listing Shoot Includes
A standard two-hour booking gets you:
- 15 edited photographs, colour and exposure corrected, straightened, ready to upload
- Aerial stills and video where the airspace allows it, flown on an Advanced RPAS certificate
- Three vertical clips, 15 to 30 seconds each, cut for Instagram and Facebook
- Meta Ads setup if you want the listing promoted rather than just posted
- Delivery in five days as standard, with photos usually back inside 48 hours
Interiors are shot with the lights on and the windows exposed properly, which matters more in Halifax than people expect. A lot of housing stock here is older, with smaller windows and darker rooms, and a phone photo of a South End basement is not going to sell it.
What It Costs
Around Halifax, photo-only real estate packages generally start near $400, and full cinematic treatments for premium listings run to about $1,800. Our $349 package sits at the accessible end of that while still including drone coverage, which most photo-only packages charge extra for.
Want the drone only? A drone shoot on its own is $299 plus HST and delivers raw 4K footage and stills for you to edit. The $349 package above is the same flight with the edit, the ground coverage and the photographs included, so unless you have your own editor the package is the better buy.
What moves a quote up: properties over about 3,000 square feet, multiple buildings, twilight shoots, or a same-day deadline.
Aerial Coverage, and Why It Is Not Optional Any More
A ground-level photo cannot show a lot line, a shoreline, a roof, or how a property sits relative to the water and the road. For anything rural, waterfront, or on an unusual lot, aerial is the shot that answers the buyer’s actual question.
Two things worth knowing when you compare providers. Commercial drone work in Canada is regulated aviation, and most locations in HRM need an Advanced RPAS certificate plus an airspace authorization filed in advance. We hold the Advanced certificate and file the authorizations ourselves. If a brokerage asks you for proof, you should have the certificate number the same day. How a Booking Runs
- Send the address and the listing date. We check the airspace before quoting and tell you if an authorization is needed and how long it takes.
- We confirm a window. Light matters, so for exteriors we will suggest a time rather than take whatever slot is free.
- The shoot. Around two hours for a typical single-family home. You do not need to be there; a lockbox code and a contact number is enough.
- Delivery. Edited photos in 24 to 48 hours, video in three to five business days, in the sizes MLS and social need.
Common Questions
Does the house need to be staged?
It does not need professional staging, but it needs to be tidy and depersonalized. Counters cleared, bins out of frame, toilet seats down, cars off the driveway. Twenty minutes of preparation makes a bigger difference to the photographs than anything we do in the edit.
What if the weather is poor?
Interiors go ahead. Exteriors and aerials get rescheduled, at no charge for the trip, because grey flat light and a wet driveway will not help the listing.
Can you do twilight shots?
Yes, and they work well on higher-end listings. They are quoted separately because the shooting window is short and inflexible.
Who owns the photographs?
You have full use of them for marketing the listing, in perpetuity, including on MLS, social and print. If you want to resell or license them onward, tell us and we will write that into the quote.
Do you do virtual tours or floor plans?
Not as a standard product. If a listing needs them we will tell you honestly rather than sell you something adjacent.
