Drone Videography in Halifax

Sweeping aerial shots for real estate listings, construction progress updates, and events across Halifax and the surrounding area. Every flight is planned around safe operating practices and current airspace rules, with 4K footage edited to match the rest of your brand content.

Aerial listing photography and video that gives buyers a sense of scale and setting a ground-level shot can't match.

Regular aerial capture to document a build from groundbreaking to completion, useful for stakeholder updates and marketing alike.

Wide establishing shots and coverage for festivals, sports, and large gatherings across the Halifax area.

Footage delivered in 4K and edited to match your other Eski Media video content, ready for web, social, or broadcast.

Transport Canada Certified, With the Airspace Work Handled

Commercial drone work in Canada is regulated aviation, not photography with a longer lens. Eski Media flies on an Advanced RPAS certificate from Transport Canada, the level required to operate in controlled airspace and near people. Where a location needs an RPAS Flight Authorization, we file it ourselves rather than handing that back to you as your problem.

That matters more in HRM than people expect. Halifax Stanfield’s control zone sits over Enfield and reaches toward Fall River. Twelve Wing Shearwater in Dartmouth is an active military aerodrome with its own authorization process. The QEII and the Halifax Infirmary both have helicopter traffic. Send us an address and we will tell you before you book whether it needs an authorization and how long that takes.

The distinction matters when you are comparing quotes. A Basic certificate covers uncontrolled airspace with a 30-metre buffer from anyone not involved in the flight, which rules out a large share of real jobs in HRM. Ask us for the certificate number: if a brokerage or a general contractor wants proof, you should have it the same day. We wrote up what to check when hiring any operator in drone photography for Halifax contractors and real estate agents, and the full certificate, registration and airspace requirements in do you need a licensed drone pilot in Halifax.

What Aerial Work Costs, and How Fast You Get It

There are two ways to book. A drone shoot on its own is $299 plus HST: we run the airspace check, file any authorization, fly the site and hand you the raw 4K footage and stills to edit yourself. The full promotional package is $349 plus HST and adds the edit plus ground coverage: a two-hour shoot with 4K camera as well as drone, three Reels-length videos, fifteen edited photographs, Meta Ads setup, five-day delivery.

Worth saying plainly, because the numbers are close: the difference is $50. The raw-footage option really only makes sense if you already have an editor. Most people take the package. Construction progress documentation on a recurring monthly schedule is priced per visit and comes down with frequency, and commercial or cinematic work is quoted per project, because the edit is what drives the hours.

Anything advertised at a flat $100 is almost certainly someone flying without the certificate, the registration, the authorization or the insurance. That is not an argument for expensive drone work. It is just where the floor sits once the legal requirements are genuinely met.

Standard turnaround on edited aerial footage is three to five business days. Same-week delivery is usually possible for listings on a deadline, as long as you tell us the deadline when you book rather than after.

How a Shoot Runs

You send the location. We check the airspace, confirm whether an RPAS Flight Authorization is required, and file it if it is. This happens before we quote, not after you have committed.

A documented pre-flight assessment: obstacles, bystanders, launch and recovery points, weather window. It is a safety requirement, and it is also the record showing the flight was planned rather than improvised.

Most residential and small commercial shoots take under an hour on site. We fly the shot list agreed in advance and capture extra coverage so the edit has options to work with.

Colour-matched to the rest of your brand video, delivered in 4K plus the vertical and square cuts you need for social. Three to five business days as standard.

Common Questions

No. For most property and construction shoots we only need access and a contact number. You get the footage without spending your morning standing in a driveway.

We reschedule. Flying in unsuitable wind or precipitation produces poor footage and is a safety issue, so we do not do it, and you are not charged for the trip.

Often yes, with an authorization filed in advance. This is exactly what the Advanced certificate is for, and it is where Basic-only operators have to decline. Some locations genuinely cannot be flown at all, and we will tell you that straight rather than taking the booking and hoping.

Yes, and it is usually the better value. Combining aerial and ground footage on one visit means one crew, one schedule and one invoice instead of coordinating two vendors. For listings we normally pair it with real estate photography.

You do, for the use we agree at the outset. If you need broader rights for paid advertising or broadcast, say so at quoting stage and we will write it in.

Where We Fly

Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Fall River and Hammonds Plains as standard, along with the surrounding HRM communities. Farther out along the South Shore, into the Valley or toward Truro is possible with travel included in the quote. If you are not sure whether your site is in range, just ask.
